Let's get straight into it, shall we? Here is the best (and worst) of this week's fashion news...

  • Flying the flag for us this week was Alexa Chung. On Thursday, she scored a mega write-up in Women's Wear Daily for her forthcoming MTV show. But that's not the only reason she has our American friends buzzing. The TV presenter also stars in the holiday '09 lookbook for L.A. label, Wren, alongside Tennessee Thomas. Glad to see she is still dabbling in a bit of modelling on the side.

Catch-up on what else happened this week after the cut...

A tad too much bronzing powder perhaps, Rach?
  • Onto some home-grown news now, and Anna Friel is taking on the mega task of playing Holly Golightly in a London stage adaptation of Breakfast at Tiffany's. Stepping into the shoes of Audrey Hepburn, Friel channelled one of fashion's favourite heroines in a special photo-shoot for the Daily Mail. 'My Holly will have a lot more rough edges than Audrey's,' Anna said. Hmm... Those are some pretty big shoes to fill. I hope she doesn't end up red-faced like Rachel Hunter did this week, gah!
  • Meanwhile, Carla Bruni and her hubby French President Nicolas Sarkozy, have their eye on buying Yves Saint Laurent's former apartment in Paris. The couple want to turn into their own private love nest where they can "get away from the hurly burly of the Elysée." Worth around £3.5 million, I wonder if Carla will get a discount, being a close personal friend of YSL's and all.
  • Finally, make sure to keep up-to-date with all the latest looks from Cannes Film Festival. We will be tracking down all the celebs as they hit the red carpet.

And that, my friends, was the week that was. Until next time...
