Stella McCartney named TIME's most influential designer of 2009
Stella McCartney has scooped herself another honour by being named TIME magazine's most influential designer.
McCartney made the magazine's annual 100 influential people list for 2009. She ranks among the likes of Zac Efron, the founders of Twitter, Barack and Michelle Obama. As the only person to represent the fashion industry, it is a big coup for the British designer. Writing her recommendation was Stella's good pal, Gwyneth Paltrow.
"Everything about Stella McCartney is authentic. Her red hair is her own. She has real guts. She means what she says. Sometimes it's even a bit scary: she somehow works tirelessly to create the chic looks that have made her a fashion icon and yet still manages to be home with her three beautiful children at the same time," she wrote.
