Legendary designer Pierre Cardin is recovering after a fall at his home in the southern French village of Lacoste last Friday.
The 86-year-old was taken to hospital in Marseille on Tuesday for high blood pressure, believed to be caused by an injury suffered from the fall.
"His blood pressure rose... he was totally lucid," said fashion house spokesman Jean-Pascal Hesse. "He has had a thorough check-up and is being kept for observation until he leaves [on Thursday]."
Last week was also briefly hospitalised for a fracture of his shoulder-blade after falling on some stairs.
