Wearing the dress you saw on the catwalk or red carpet for a special night out is but a dream for many of us, especially in these frugal times. Girl Meets Dress lets you to hire one of their frocks for two nights, which is perfect for a party, or a week if you really want to pretend it's your own. With names like Proenza Schouler, Marc Jacobs and DVF their designer list reads like a who's who of the catwalkerati.

We love the delicately ruffled blue Philip Lim dress, the sturdy tan belt providing a perfect counterpoint to the feminine frothiness. Also by Philip Lim, a frock you can wear in multiude of ways. The high-impact gold brocade lends itself to clashing colours and textures, or a pair of opaques an killer heels for a classy look.

I see what Laura means, but personally I think it's a good idea. I'm always busy at work and never have time to go shopping. Plus, I always have lunch and dinner meetings out of office hours so being able to have a dress delivered to my desk at work would be soooo great! Plus, I don't want to wear the same thing twice when I'm wining and dining regular clients so this really would be the answer.

  • Granted it is pricey, but if you've been lusting after a dress for ages it's more affordable than buying.

If I was going to pay out £88 or more for a dress then I would rather go to a nice high street store and buy one to keep or save up a bit longer and own the item, £88 for 2 nights? for a dress that was £320 in the first place. Sorry but huge rip off!
