Anna Sui on Target for Gossip Girl-influenced line

Expect upmarket preppy to be given an eclectic hippy-chic twist when Anna Sui designs a range for Target later this year. Pipped to hit stores in September the range is inspired by the four female characters in Gossip Girl.

Anna Sui said: "When I was in Asia last year, all the young girls kept asking me about the different locations in New York City where the characters from 'Gossip Girl' live," The US designer's cute, feminine, style will fit in easily with Target's core market, and Gossip Girl's adoring audience. She added: "I liked the idea of creating a collection reflective of each characters' style, sensibility and unique approach to fashion. By combining the elements of art, city, spirit, punk and glamour, we created a collection that exudes New York City fashion."

The collection is said to include metallic jacquards, herringbone, silk and chiffon and detailing with tulle, lace and sequins so it will definitely have the luxurious Sui feel, with a Park Avenue gloss.
