Lily Cole turns public speaker at Cambridge ethical fashion show
Proving that she is more than just a pretty face, Lily Cole couldn't resist the opportunity to take part in an ethical fashion discussion at Cambridge University on Sunday.
Hot off the plane from Venice, where she attended Salma Hayek and François-Henri Pinault's second wedding, the model took to the stage to give a talk at the FACE Ethical Fashion Show.
Whilst declining to hit the catwalk for the show, Lily instead gave a speech at the Cambridge Student Union on the importance of using fair trade and organic materials in today's fashion industry.
"As in any industry it's important to look through the process from beginning to end to make sure we are not producing in ways detrimental to the world," she said. "As these labels show, producing clothes with a conscientious awareness of the global impact they cause is by no means impossible or limiting."
Labels to hit the student runway included Izzy Lane, Noir, From Somewhere, Amar, Ciel, Katherine Hamnett and Coco de Mer. Charity shop finds were also modelled.
Over the weekend, Lily attended the Hayek-Pinault wedding with her boyfriend Without a Trace star, Enrique Murciano. The couple began dating in September last year, following rumours that she was involved with Jude Law.
