Gemma says goodbye, but Catwalk Queen lives on!
In 2001 I bought a domain for my personal blog. I chose the name Catwalk Queen, because I loved fashion and was planning to study it further after I left school. If you'd have told me back then that eight years later my site would have evolved into a huge fashion resource viewed by nearly half a million people each month, I would have laughed in your face.
But somehow it happened, thanks to some hard work, a little luck, a fantastic team and great support from our readers and the folks at Shiny Media.
This site has been my life for the past eight years, but now it's time to fly the nest. Next week I'll be moving on to new projects, and Catwalk Queen will be left in the very capable hands of Kim and Isabelle.
I can't even begin to put into words how much I've loved working on Catwalk Queen, but I'd like to thank everyone who's contributed to making the site such a success by visiting, commenting and interacting. I know we've had our problems - especially lately with broken comments and overloaded servers - and I'm incredibly grateful to those of you who've stuck around, emailed us your thoughts and / or dropped us a line via Twitter. We really do try to listen, even if we don't always have the time to reply.
During my time at Catwalk Queen I've had so many amazing opportunities, and I am so grateful that the three founders took a chance on me. I've been able to fulfill my fashion dreams, but more importantly, I've made amazing friends, and I leave this site knowing it's in very safe hands. Both Kim and Isabelle have been writing for Catwalk Queen for a long time so I'm sure you won't even notice a change.
I will try and stop by occasionally to write the odd column, and I have a few more posts to write before I leave, but if you want more random ramblings about shapewear, Joan from Mad Men and how I've decorated my flat, I also post from time to time on my personal blog, or you can keep up with me on twitter as @GemmaCartwright.
