Sonia Rykiel will wave goodbye to its creative director, Gabrielle Griess, after just 18 months.
The French fashion house confirmed that Griess is stepping down from her role "by mutual agreement." The label is now in the hands of house president, Nathalie Rykiel and Sonia Rykiel.
"I have put in place a design studio, with a certain number of people under my artistic direction and of course, that of Madame Rykiel," Nathalie said.
A Central Saint Martins graduate, Griess was appointed to the house in December 2007. Previous to that she had been working as Sonia's chief assistant for three years, as well as working for Lanvin. What direction she will take next is unknown.
