Sales of lingerie are up as staying in becomes the new going out!
Designer lipsticks, M&S 'Two dine for £10' deals, video games and consoles...and now lingerie. During a recession, our shopping habits change, and apparently - as staying in really does become the new going out - lingerie sales in the UK have shot up by 12% in the last 3 months.
This is according to cashback shopping website eDealsUK, who've recorded massive growth in lingerie sales from their 600,000+ users. These shoppers get small amounts of cashback on their purchases when using the site as a portal to shops like Figleaves, Knickerbox and La Senza...and apparently, they're shopping a lot for undies!
Of course, this might not be because the so-called 'recessionistas' are choosing sex over socialising. It could be because shops like La Senza are offering massive discounts at the moment. £7 bra anyone?!
