This season, Gareth Pugh like so many other designers, opted against a runway show in favour of a video presentation. The only difference... he didn't tell anyone about it. So when editors and buyers showed up to his A/W 2009-10 show in Paris yesterday, they were surprised by an eight-minute film, starring his latest dramatic creations modelled by Natasa Vojnovic. Shot on Friday in London, the film was worked on day-and-night by cinematographer, Ruth Hogben. It was also screened live online via SHOWstudio.

For Fall '09, Pugh's strong triangular silhouette has been turned upside down. His same-same-but-different collection featured graphic designs adorned with spikes, nails and chains. Arguably, it is the most wearable collection I have seen of Pugh to date, with big black cloaks, over-the-knee shiny boots, and wide palazzo pants.
