Milan Fashion Week: Marni A/W 09 (video)
Marni is the king of eclecticism and so there were very few surprises as the Consuelo Castiglioni-designed collection was marched down the runway in Milan. Castiglioni focused very much on creating those much talked about "investment pieces" that are so valuable to us right now and are almost verging on necessity.
Don't be fooled:while the gold brocade dresses and embroidered silk peacoats are no doubt luxurious, they still remained somewhat understated and therefore, became perfect for fulfilling that 'investment' brief. Jewellery is always exciting and outside-the-square in Marni-land and once again, they didn't disappoint - chunky gold chains with floral motifs featured real gems and, even on film, were complete stunners.
