Easily my favourite collection of A/W 2009 so far, Missoni was a heart-stirring concoction of hip-hop (yep, you read that right), ice princess and Arabian nights, which was packed onto the models literally layer by layer. Woolly leggings, mini skirts, web-knit dresses, silk slips, boxy jackets, floor-trailing cardigans, snoods and arm-warmers - not an inch of skin was left bare and the result was a completely cosy look which is making me (kind of) wish winter would stick around just a little longer...

Angela Missoni made it very clear she was taking the label back to it's knitwear roots - if you were in any doubt after seeing the layered-up models, then you only had to look at the screen playing a video of a knitting loom in the background to get your assurances. The palette of pastel pinks, lavenders, terracotta, peach and blue was so completely romantic and so easy on the eye, I would excuse any show-goers who drifted into a knitwear-filled Arabian desert daydream.
