Vivienne Westwood teams up with Stephen Jones to create new looks for Ascot
Bucking the traditions of Eliza Doolittle is Vivienne Westwood who has been invited to offer her vision for Royal Ascot. Collaborating with Stephen Jones, the pair have concocted some truly edgy pieces for the typically conservative British event.
"Royal Ascot is a British institution for showing off clothes and I like the idea of a group of people gathered together," said Westwood. "It is also great to have the opportunity to work with Finlay Mackay, the photographer. He is able to access the feeling of the stables and horses and add to that great clothes, a beautiful girl and Stephen Jones' hats."
Westwood's designs will be showcased throughout Ascot at the Bessborough Restaurant, Tuesday June 16th to Saturday, June 20th.
Meanwhile, it is believed that Dame Viv has found a new muse in glam-rock scenester, Nat Weller. Whispers that the son of Paul Weller could soon be walking the runway at Westwood's Red Label show are circulating town, if only Nat can overcome his shyness.
"Dame Vivienne loves Nat and wants him to walk," model pal, Tolula revealed to Grazia. 'I think he will but he is quite shy, so I am currently in the process of convincing him, but I think it's pretty much a done deal."
