Vivienne Westwood offers British Elle her manifesto for stylish living
In these tough times you may wish to take few tips from Dame Vivienne Westwood on how to live stylishly without dipping into your suffering bank account. To help celebrate 25 years of London Fashion Week, the British designer, along with Stella McCartney, John Galliano, and Christopher Kane, was asked to create their very own UK Elle covers. Going that extra step, Westwood accompanied her cover with a personal manifesto on how to live stylishly (extract above).
Some of Viv's thrifty advice includes making a necklace out of safety pins, and wearing table cloths, curtains or towels as clothing. For the lads, she suggests cracking out the boxer shorts and wearing them as outerwear. "We offer them in silk or in the same fabric as our jackets," she writes.
Erm, I wonder if she dished up the same advice for Pamela Anderson? In the meantime, check out her special edition cover and others by McCartney and co. They are available to purchase for £3.50 (plus P&H) each - click here to buy yours today.
