tesco_onlineclothingstore.jpgTesco is about to launch a fashion assault on brands such as Asos by opening an online clothing store. The supermarket chain will soon offer customers thousands of items via its spanking new virtual store.

It's brands including Florence + Fred, Elspeth Gibson and Cherokee, will all be available via Tesco.com. The move is said to be based on the market's reaction to cheaper brands such as Asda, despite the economic downturn.

Following a trial last year, the new Tesco clothing wesbite is slated to launch in time for this year's autumn collections.

I wonder how long it'll take Sainsburys to cotton on.
