New York Fashion Week: Proenza Schouler Fall 2009
Proenza Schouler have shown that you don't have to compromise your artistic vision to create a commercially viable collection. They sent models out in the most gorgeous shoes and boots, featuring brogue detailing, laces and multi-layered platforms.
Shoes aside, the design duo combined tweed and luxe fabrics in ochre and purple for and '80s influenced look which never felt overtly retro. The lightness of touch continued with delicately devoré velvets and chiffons and gently ruffled and quilted dresses. The more substantial items of clothing included panelled trousers, shorts and chunky jackets and coats making the collection the dream winter wardrobe for any young girl about town.
