Most designers' couture shows are very extravagant affairs, showcasing clothes that are only suitable for a masked ball or somesuch but then Martin Margiela isn't your average designer.

With typical humour Margiela crafted exquisite garments from the most unexpected materials, paper towels, combs, straws and never compromising on his immaculate construction skills. Taking an entirely different tack to the concept of couture these were not clothes made for a monied few, they were maquettes and creative ideas taken to completion which only serve to ramp up the anticipation for his forthcoming Autumn Winter show in Paris.
