Sex and the City movie sequel still not official, says Patricia Field
The last time that we checked in with what was happening regarding the rumoured film sequel to Sex and the City: The Movie, Kim Cattrall had spilled the beans, Sarah Jessica Parker was reluctant to confirm details, and we were told that plans to begin shooting next summer were underway.
Now SATC stylist, Patricia Field, has added her two pence to the mix by claiming that the sequel is still not official yet.
"I do believe it will happen, because [creator] Michael Patrick King himself told me it's gonna happen," she said. "But I haven't really received any official information yet."
Field has urged fans not to get too excited about immediately seeing a sequel on the big screen, as it could be a while before a follow-up flick is completed.
"King has to write a new script. It's a long process. I don't think it will happen in 2009," she added. "But you never know. Maybe the end [of the year]. That's unofficial. I have really no idea. I don't think there's a set date anyway. It's in the really early process."
This contradicts SJP's earlier comments that shooting will start in summer this year. But as Field concedes, the project is in the very early stages of development.
Let's hope King can come up with a brilliant script that will satisfy that relentless need to see more from Carrie and the girls.
