Michelle Obama opts for Jason Wu for inaugural ball

From ShinyStyle... The answer to the big question - which designer will Michelle Obama choose for the inaugural ball - has been answered. Jason Wu is the lucky man who got to see one of his designs on the back of the new First Lady. According to the man himself, he didn't even know that his ivory one-shouldered gown had been chosen until he saw it on TV with the rest of the world.

"I had no idea," he told WWD. "I found out with everyone else which was pretty fabulous when you think about it."

Earlier in the day, Michelle wore a yellow Isabel Toledo ensemble for Barack's swearing-in ceremony. What do you think of her choice of inauguration outfits?

I'm not sure how I feel about the yellow (day time) dress and jacket. Although they were lovely, I don't hink the length and fit were the most complementary for her figure.

As for the ball gown ..... I thought the dress was beautiful and that she looked great in it. It did seem a bit impractical though. There was a lot of press coverage of the balls here and every time they showed her dancing, she had to keep flicking the skirt/train/thing out of the way which wasn't very elegant. I think I even saw Barak step on it once or twice.

I think the opposite of the first commenter, I thought the ball gown was not a good choice for her...If you got rid of that little triangle over her right armpit, or took that one shoulder piece off, the dress would look completely different and much better, but as it is it looks like a dress with a sash attached to it. It's very angular at the chest and shoulders which doesn't complement her muscular shape up there.
