To finish up our Golden Globes coverage (yep, this is it, you can all breathe a sigh of relief!) we've opened up the floor to our friends. After all, it's all well and good us discussing at great length the merits of Eva Mendes vs Maggie Gyllenhaal, but what does everyone else think? We asked some of our blogger friends, our Twitter followers and - for a bit of fun - the boys in the office, to share their thoughts on the fashion at the Golden Globes. And here's what they had to say...

On Eva Mendes:

"Probably the most beautiful woman on the planet? Killer dress, love the enormo necklace and her hair is completely perfect in every way. I would hate her if I didn't have it on first hand authority that she's the nicest girl ever." - Rachael 'Fur Coat, No Knickers' Gibson

"Good, bit too wedding dress tho. But if I was marrying her and she turned up at church like that. I'd be well pleased." - Shiny Matt

On Maggie Gyllenhaal:

"Maggie Gyllenhaal looks insane in a good way" - Duncan Geere, Tech Digest

"Maggie's dress was nice...I thought all the others were a bit rubbish" - Alastair Allan, Dazed Digital / DirtyDirtyDancing (who doesn't mince his words!)

"The biggest surprise of the night for me was Maggie Gyllenhaal. She bravely wore a turquoise leopard print Lanvin dress which broke up the block colour on show, and I think, paid off." - Laura Street, FabSugar UK

"Maybe i'm just more of 'traditional', 'boring' dress kind of guy but Maggie G is not for me. Looks like some woman Tarzan from a black and white movie." - Shiny Matt

"I like Maggie Gyllenhaal's as I love that Lanvin dress and it is a wee bit punky isn't it? But to be honest I'm not that blown away by anyone. All very safe..." - Disney Rollergirl

"I really loved Maggie Gyllenhaal's dress. I bought one similar from Oasis for £30 this morning :-)" - Siany

"Maggie Gyllenhaal looks lovely. But then she could just wear a bin bag and I'd still think she was fit." - Gary Andrews

On Kate Winslet:

"Kate Winslet looks great, simple but it works - shame about the lump on her arm." - Shiny Matt (and by 'lump' we think he means Leo DiCaprio)

"Kate Winslet stole the show. Not only did she look STUNNING but she was graceful and elegant. Modest too. LOVE HER." - Siany

"The best dressed of the evening was Kate Winslet. She has really upped her game in the style department and the YSL gown is a perfect example of how she's evolving in the fashion world. This dress really suits her shape. It's a classic black strapless dress but the clinched bow waist and the cut set it apart from the rest. " - Laura Street, FabSugar UK

On Blake Lively:

"The dress looks like it would be more at home on Shania Twain at the Country Music Awards circa 1998. And girlfriend is HOT but even skinny girls need Spanx when they're wearing tight fit satin stretched across their tum." Rachael 'Fur Coat, No Knickers' Gibson

"Blake Lively's dress looks like it's a size or two too small." - Duncan Geere, Tech Digest

The best of the rest...

"Angel from Home & Away has spilled paint down her frock!" - Stuart Waterman, My Chemical Toilet

"Anne Hathaway looks a bit lost in her dress. The dress is massive, and she seems a little bit secondary to the whole thing." - Duncan Geere, Tech Digest

"January Jones looks amazing! I love her vintage style Versace frock (even more so because it has pockets) and her loose curls give her a '50s glamour look" - Laura Street, FabSugar UK

"Melissa George's dress is a great combination of a simple, flattering shape with some crazy embellishments that make the dress anything but dull. The black fabric looks a bit like slick black paint which I think is quite cool in a Jackson Pollock sort of way, and the mixture of textures adds a lot of appeal." - Abi Silvester, Hippyshopper
