Temperley London 2.jpgJoining a growing list of designers who are bypassing catwalk shows at New York Fashion Week next season is Temperley London.

After 12 seasons, the British label has decided to cancel its autumn/winter 2009-10 runway presentation in favour of a video installation instead. With the help of video artists and photographers, the virtual installations will be shown in New York, London, and Paris.

In a statement, CEO of the company and husband of Alice Temperley, Lars Von Bennigsen said: "From an economic and environmental point of view, it has become more and more difficult to support the constant global travel schedule for fashion sellers, buyers and press."

Other designers steer clear of Bryant Park next season include Very Wang, Betsey Johnson, and the latest is DKNY. At this rate, there won't be any fashion week left.
