Alexander Wang has been named the latest recipient of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award.
He was announced as the winner at Monday night's dinner gala, scooping a grand prize of $200,000 and a year's worth of mentoring. Runners-up prizes went to Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai of Vena Cava and Albertus Q. Swanepoel of Albertus Quartuseach, each receiving $50,000 and a business mentor.
Wang beat out fellow finalists Richard Chai, Jason Wu, Irene Neuwirth, Alejandro Ingelmo, Juan Carlos Obando, Obedient Sons & Daughters, and Organic, to take home the top gong.
The glittery event celebrated the Fashion Fund's fifth anniversary, featuring John Galliano as a keynote speaker. This year's selection committee was headed up by CFDA president Diane von Furstenberg, Anna Wintour, and the Gap's Patrick Robinson among others.
Previous winners have included Rogan, who was last year's recipient, and Proenza Schouler, who took home the top honor in 2004.
