MTV Europe Music Awards: Beyonce Knowles in Gareth Pugh

Last night's MTV Europe Music Awards in Liverpool were a celebration of madcap fashion, WAGS and Hollyoaks. With host Katy Perry dressing in sparkly Obama frocks, carousel corsets and personalised playsuits, not to mention frolicking around on a giant cherry chapstick, the rest of the attendees had a lot to live up to when it came to attention-grabbing stunts.
Beyonce managed to hold her own by plumping for the one designer we wouldn't have expected - Gareth Pugh. It's not a match I would have made myself, but Beyonce's amazing curves actually work brilliantly with the voluminous shapes of Pugh's Space-aged Spring collection. The colours were modified, but the shapes remain the same. I think she looks fantastic (I just wish the same could be said for her fashion disaster of a sister).
