Lauren took some time out from her busy schedule to give us her tuppence worth...

What was the most exciting/interesting thing that happened this week?

Well apart from Barack Obama winning the American Presidential Election, which had to be the most exciting, if not slightly nail-bitingly tense bit of TV for a long time, I would have to say that it was the confirmation that we will be stocking Elizabeth & James for Spring Summer.

Not only is the collection the creation of two of the biggest fashion icons of our time, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, but every piece of the collection is just so incredibly covetable (and wearable). I will be fighting my way to the front of the queue when the collection arrives next year.

Which trends do you think are going to be big in the next few months?

Orange is going to be huge for Spring Summer, with gorgeous tangerine and bright orange hues featuring on most of the catwalks. Once again, jumpsuits will be making their return, although it seems like they have never been away. In fact, this season's official new name for jumpsuits is 'jumpers', as discovered during a trip to New York Fashion Week. Ossie Clark, Jasmine di Milo and McQ have all done gorgeous jumpsuits in flowing fabrics and stunning colours.

Another big trend for next season to look out for is harem-style trousers. At London Fashion Week, Paul Smith teamed them with headscarves for a truly Eastern style. Look out for harem pants from the Olsen's Elizabeth & James collection and hip Parisian label Marje.

What are you wearing to death at the moment?

It would have to be my Pringle 1815 black bobble trench. It's such a classic shape that adds a touch of glamour over any outfit, with the couture-style pleating detail and the bracelet-length sleeves, which perfectly show off my new elbow-length black leather gloves. My only problem is that as it gets colder, I need to look at investing in a thick winter coat, but I can't bear to be parted from the trench.

What was the last book you read/album you listened to?

The last book that I read was Front Row: Anna Wintour: The Cool Life and Hot Times of Vogue's Editor in Chief by Jerry Oppenheimer. It was just the most fascinating insight into one of the most well respected magazine editors of today and I have to say, a very inspiring read. The last album that I listened to was Muse's Black Holes & Revelations. I saw them live at Wembley, which was the most incredible concert, so listening to the album lets me relive every moment.
