CQ Watch: Supermodels and superbugs on 2009 Pirelli calendar shoot
Ah, the things that models must do to earn a quid in this world. For the 2009 Pirelli calendar, some of the world's biggest earners, including Daria Werbowy, Lara Stone, and Isabeli Fontana were flown to Botswana to take part in the shoot. It also featured a number of exotic creatures and animals, in particular a very large grasshopper-type bug thing that is placed on Fontana's face while the poor love fights back tears. Other scenes, shot by Peter Beard, include topless models running away from and draping themselves across elephants and splashing about in muddy watering holes. And you thought that being a model was glamourous. Check out the finished product here.
