CQ goes vintage in Crystal Palace

Last night, Katie (our Editorial Director) and I headed to Crystal Palace for 'We Hart Vintage', a vintage fashion event hosted by reviews site Qype and independent shopping site Unchained Guide.

The whole thing took place at Vintage Hart, a small but perfectly formed vintage store nestled in the back of the White Hart pub. The event was basically an informal introduction to vintage fashion, allowing newbies and devotees alike the chance to try on some beautiful coats, dresses and accessories, and get tips on how to buy vintage. There were cupcakes and champers aplenty, vintage tunes on the gramophone, gorgeous clothes to buy (or in my case, stare longingly at) and loads of interesting people to chat to. See under the cut for more pics.

So funny to see this - I grew up in CP and left in 1986 and the White Hart was a rough old boozer! How times have changed and areas been gentrfied!

Hi M, good point, we'll try and do more of that when we hear about interesting events.

Sadly, this one was invite-only for members or friends of Qype and Unchained Guide. I'd really recommend signing up for Qype as they put on loads of great events for their users and the community on their site is really friendly and welcoming.

And, of course, Vintage Hart is open every Fri - Sun from midday and the staff are always on hand to offer some advice, so if you live nearby I'd definitely recommend you pop in!

It's lovely to see these post-event items, but would be even lovelier to have a post go up before, so everyone could go and check it out too?

  • When I come to your party tomorrow, I'm planning a massive Crystal Palace charity shop swoop. Woop!
