Glamour is a very black and white thing... or at least it is to the ladies who showed up at Glamour magazine's 2008 Women of the Year Awards in New York last night. Most seemed to favour the timeless chic of monochrome and really let the fabrics, cut and intricate detailing do all the talking (check out Natalie Portman's frock to see exactly what I'm talking about.)

However, not everyone was in black or white mood - America Ferrera, for one, managed to step away from the black and into a bright Oscar de la Renta watercolour fantasy decorated with black paillettes. My personal favourite though would have to be Kate Bosworth, who always adheres to the mantra "less is more" and always comes away better off for it!
