Christopher Kane unveils radio for Comet; Gareth Pugh gets Christmassy
Our designers are busy at the moment, and not necessarily working on their next collections. Christopher Kane has unveiled his design for a radio (above, right), celebrating 75 years of Comet - a Roberts Revival radio. The stint has left the designer considering a homewear range. "I do love interiors," he admitted to Vogue.com. But clothes will always be his first love, with another Topshop collection in the works.
Over at the Gareth Pugh camp, things have turned festive with the designer creating an ultra-modern Christmas tree (above, left) for Topshop's new Westfield store.
In true Pugh style, the non-conventional 2.8 metre tall creation features 60 neon tubes fixed to a metal stand. You can also check it out at Topshop's Oxford Street store.
"This neon tree is my interpretation of the traditional Christmas tree shape, putting a super-slick and modern edge to it," he said. "I think the simple melding of tradition and modernity aptly suits the mood at the moment; we are all looking to a brighter future."
Yes, but where exactly does the angel go?
