Psst... Is Kate Winslet to play Vivienne Westwood?

Tongues are wagging today after Vivienne Westwood's managing director was overheard at Paris Fashion Week saying that Kate Winslet is set to play the designer in an upcoming biopic.

The juicy tidbit was picked up by those who sat near Carlo D'Amario at Westwood's Gold Label show. While on the front row, D'Amario is believed to have said: 'Kate Winslet will play Vivienne from the 70s to the present day.'

Sources believe that Universal Studios will produce the flick, although neither Universal or Winslet's publicists have confirmed the story.

It all certainly sounds promising, but before we get too swept away, there have been other rumours of a similar nature before. It was nearly a year ago that Kirsten Dunst was thought to step in the designer's shoes. Surely Kate is a much better match for the part, do you agree?
