Alexander McQueen's latest show an altogether much more elemental feeling than his previous catwalk collections. There were still some cobwebby remains of his last show's influences in the staunch Victorian shapes but kaleidoscopic and psychedelic prints gave a much more whimisical, albeit with a sinister undercurrent.

Taking his cue from Darwin and nature the British designer created structural forms from refracted images of gems and used wood grain to dizzying effect against a backdrop of stuffed tigers, zebras and polar bears. Bones were another theme, monochrome trouser suits and dress carried manipulated images which suggested skeletons marrying the print to the scultped silhouette.
