Industry Interview: Drop Your Drawers' Meg
You may have seen Drop Your Drawers' vintage offerings on Catwalk Queen before, and now we've got the woman behind the clothes to reveal her innermost secrets (from this week!):
Drop Your Drawers came about in 2005 when I had way too many clothes and too little space to keep them, so I started selling my gently used clothes on LiveJournal and later on Ebay. As I did this, I was becoming more adventurous with my own style and started thrifting and wearing vintage clothing. As I evolved so did DYD and I started a little business of selling my vintage finds and its been that way ever since!
What was the most exciting/interesting thing that happened this week?
I found some 1930's nighties at an estate sale and they are so gorgeous, they are made of that satin that when I touch it I just know it's old, they just don't make it like that anymore. I also am excited about The Pickup Artist. I love that show and I LOVE Mystery, he's such a funky guy! I'm just so intrigued by him and all the accessories he wears. Its such a guilty pleasure of mine!!
Which trends do you think are going to be big in the next few months?
How about oversized long sweaters and sweater coats? Its cold out!
What are you wearing to death at the moment?
My new grey-brown knee-high, lace-up heel boots. I was searching around all over for the perfect pair and I scooped these up at Century 21. Its a must-go-to store when visiting New York!
What was the last book you read/album you listened to?
I'm into folklore and ghost stories so I read a local book about Long Island ghosts and mysteries. I ear-marked a few pages of places I just have to roam!
The last albums I bought were Keane, Perfect Symmetry and Kings of Leon Only By The Night they both have some pretty catchy tunes but I'm pretty obsessed with The Islands- Arm's Way..especially the song "Pieces of You." It has a lyric in there about gnomes and I have more of those than I can remember.
