Gemma Ward scoops Aussie film award nomination for 'The Black Balloon'
For Gemma Ward, the news that she has been nominated for an Inside Film (IF) Award for her role in The Black Balloon, will surely be music to her ears. The 20-year-old has picked up a nomination for Best Actress for her debut performance in the Australian film by Elissa Down.
Since taking up the acting reins, the model hasn't made any secret of her desires to pursue her craft, admitting in a recent interview that she has wanted to be an actor since the age of seven. This, plus a two-season absence from the catwalk, prompted rumours of her imminent retirement from modelling, something she has adamantly denied.
The award ceremony will be held next month. Good luck to her!
