Betsey Johnson raids the archive to create Betsey Vintage

betsey_vintage.jpg

Checking Betsey Johnson's uber-girlie website for the first time in a little while, I could have been mistaken for thinking her latest inspiration was Jem & The Holograms. There's a real 80s rock vibe going on, but that's because the designer is looking back into her archives to bring us a new label - Betsey Johnson Vintage. As well as creating items based on old designs, she's also looking for fans of the brand who might have old items in their closet that can be added to the archive and help inspire new pieces. I'm sure the rewards would be great if you or anyone you know has any vintage Betsey, or she'll even 'rent' pieces if you can't bear to part with them.

In the meantime, if fair isle, butterflies and skulls float your boat, some items from the vintage range are available online (the site ships internationally) from $150.
