vicbeck_previewdresscollection.jpgWell here it is folks, the dress collection we have kinda totally been waiting for from one Victoria Beckham. The Spice Girl-turned-designer previewed her new upscale posh frock collection, exclusively for WWD. The rest of the collection will be unveiled to press and buyers next week at New York Fashion Week.

True to form, each piece is something that we could see Victoria wearing whether it be on the red carpet, boarding a plane, or down at the local shops. Let's face it, she is hardly ever seen without a tight-fitting designer dress, full hair and make-up, and skyscraper heels.

And so, her stream-lined, figure-hugging style has filtered over into her tightly-structured designs, that feature a hint of embroidery and beading.

"The collection was inspired by the femininity and sophistication of the mid-century silhouette," she said. "I've always been drawn to intricate, seam-detailed designs, as their structure enhances the flattering shape of a woman's silhouette."

Ten designs have been created, in the latest fashion venture from Beckham, priced between US$600 and US$1,400 wholesale. Her range of sunglasses, and denim line, dVb, which has had its fair share of upsets, will leave plenty to wonder whether her new project will finally elevate her to the fashion status that she so badly desires.

From what I have seen so far, I am rather impressed, but not pleasantly surprised. I would have liked to see her try something a little more unpredictable, and a little less Roland Mouret-inspired.
