Paris Fashion Week: Vivienne Westwood S/S 09
In keeping with Vivienne Westwood's penchant for political controversy she walked down the catwalk with a bandana emblazoned with the word 'branded' and a t-shirt with the number 30 million (the amount of dollars apparently needed to save the rainforest).
She seemed to have a similarly strong vision for the woman she was designing for, a busy Superwoman who had nonchalantly ripped off the tablecloth or the bedclothes and quickly fashioned it into a stunning dress for the evening. Straps, headscarves and plasticised fabrics all furthered the eccentric housewife feeling and made for a collection which had more than a hint of favela chic.
Her trademark tailoring and scultping of the body was still strongly in evidence, with more than enough piratical evening dresses for the fans.
