This just in: Allegra Hicks forced to cancel London Fashion Week show

Allegra Hicks has been forced to pull out of London Fashion Week, after sponsors withdrew their support her catwalk show.

A spokesperson for the designer told Drapers: "It is with great regret that our sponsors withdrew from supporting our show in London in September due to the economic circumstances. We decided it was best not to show this season during London Fashion Week, but to present the new spring 09 collection after the shows in a more private environment. We will be showing our spring 09 collection to buyers as usual from London, Paris and New York."

Hicks has been showing at LFW since 2005, if anything, this highlights just how important sponsorship is to helping our designers showcase their work on the global stage. That said, we hope to see her back next season.
