New York Fashion Week S/S 2009: Max Azria

Max Azria's woman was surprisingly chic and grown-up this season. Showing a palette of soft grey, putty, blue and and (of course) peach, softly draped pieces topped with angled leather jackets made way for more diaphanous asymmetric gowns as the collection moved into eveningwear...

With slashed sleeves, draped back and clever belts and bags that wraped items around the body, this was a chic collection for a woman who likes to throw something on and go. There were sculpted pieces too, like cap-sleeved cropped jackets, but mainly it was about fluidity and form.

I really loved this collection, but only to look at. I would like to take a moment here to speak up for my fellow women with boobs. All those lovely bckless items were so nice to look at but in reality me and my girls can't wear them because we have to wear bras. Why don't designers consider the fact that most women (real women anyway) have boobies? Are we meant to wear those backless dresses and either have our bra showing or go jiggling about with no bra on (yuck)? That is a serious question, by the way. I'd like to ask one of the designers.
