The Marc Jacobs show was hodgepodge of influences; imagine Angelica Houston if she was a glamorous anthropology lecturer with a shot of Agatha Christie '30s chic and you're not even close. The collection nevertheless managed to look incredibly elegant and refined, taking the ethno-luxe look which has been bubbling away for a while to its aristocratic extremes. Lamé, ikat and leather created a smorgasbord of textures but a strong and traditionally feminine silhouette kept the look stylish.
