It was Beckham mania last Friday at the U.S. launch of the couple's His 'n' Hers fragrance, Signature, at Macy's in New York. Hundreds of fans converged on the department store, hoping to catch a glimpse of the stylish duo.
Dressed to impress, with David wearing a smart pin-striped three-piece suit by Tom Ford, and Victoria wowing in an Antonio Berardi grey body-con mini dress. But it was her Berardi PVC leggings that poured into a pair of heel-less, 51/2 inch platform boots, that really had everyone talking.
So, just how does Beckham walk in those crazy shoes? I'll let the designer himself answer that one...
"They [the boots] are perfectly balanced," said Berardi of his heel-less design, also worn by Uma Thurman and Gwyneth Paltrow. "When the girls come for fittings, they look a bit daunted, but by the end they say it's just like wearing a regular shoe. They are graceful and there is a ballerina nature about them. Having a heel is really just psychological."
