British Fashion Council launches UK fashion fund
London has another reason to celebrate, other than saving our fashion week. At the 25th anniversary of LFW, held at Dowing Street, the British Fashion Council announced the UK's largest ever fashion fund.
BFC chairman, Harold Tillman, unveiled plans for a fund that will be awarded to designers for the first time in November 2009.
"The BFC Fashion Fund is set to become the single most significant thing to hit British design in my lifetime," Tillman said. "This will allow us to make a real difference to exciting businesses, assisting them to grow and develop here."
Guests at the event, hosted by Sarah Brown, included Naomi Campbell, Matthew Williamson, Diane von Furstenberg, and Vivienne Westwood.
