We were invited to Whistles today to have a little sneaky peek at the new collection, which heralds the start of a new era for the brand. Now under the watchful eye of ex-Topshop Brand Director Jane Shepherdson, the feminine, boutique style store is shedding its old uber-feminine (slightly mumsy) image for something more modern and wearable.

Concentrating on quality, with beautiful fabrics, unique details and subtle but gorgeous embellishment (and not a mother-of-pearl button in sight) the collection really surprised us, not least because both me and Isabelle found ourselves cooing (despite being polar opposites when it comes to our personal style).

A few of the items we saw have already hit the shelves and are also available on the website. Though we're most excited about the trousers which are coming in late August (yes, even me!) there were also some amazing coats and beautiful frocks. This update on the tea dress is available in an exclusive vintage print or classic black for £140. Trust me, the pictures don't do it justice!
