Is Leona Lewis Topshop's next celebrity designer? Update!
UPDATE: Before any of us get over-excited about this rumour becoming a reality, a Topshop rep has said that the stories are "unsubstantiated," and a spokesman for the singer referred to reports as "just speculation"... But that isn't exactly a no, is it?
This week's celebrity/high street collaboration rumour goes to Leona Lewis and Topshop. The singing sensation is reportedly in talks with Sir Philip Green about launching her own collection.
"Philip and Leona have a dinner booked in later this month," a source told the Sun. "They have fitted it in after he returns from Ibiza and before she heads back to the States. He knows she is emerging into one of the world's top pop stars and wants to discuss her doing her own Topshop range."
I know what you're thinking... yes, this is probably just more boring star-branded hearsay, but Lewis has previously hinted at one day launching her own vegan fashion line. A source told Hello! magazine back in April, that she is "determined" to start up her own range of ethical clothing.
"The reason [Lewis] doesn't wear diamonds is because she doesn't know how they have been sourced. It was for this reason that she is determined to set up her own ethical fashion range and sell the goods at high street prices," the source revealed at the time.
A celebrity clothing range, designed for the high street, that is both ethical and vegan-friendly? Sounds like a winner to me.
