Preen's Justin Thornton on New York Fashion Week without Thea Bregazzi
As we mentioned earlier this week, one half of Preen's team, Thea Bregazzi, will be absent from their upcoming New York Fashion Week show because of the imminent arrival of her first child with Justin Thornton. Now Thornton has spilled the beans on what it will be like to fly solo without his partner-in-life (and business) by his side.
"It's such a strange feeling to know this will be the first show ever without Thea there on that day," he told FWD.
"We will, of course, have done all of the final edit and finished the collection together before I leave London. It's just the final fittings, et cetera that we do in New York. I'm hoping that the baby waits till I'm home!"
So what's a fella to do while his wife is laid up at home in London, while he is frantically running around finishing off the last minute touches?
"Thea and I were joking about getting our producer, Juliette, to set up a webcam, so Thea can feel like she is here with us. But alas, it will be just be old fashioned telephone calls," he said.
And as for the prospect of a future baby Preen collection? (After all, Burberry has branched out).
"Let's wait for the baby to come! Then inspiration may strike!"
