From Shiny Style: Following dwindling sales in April and May, the pressure riding on the September '08 issue of American Vogue has been fairly high. As previously reported, Anna Wintour chose Keira Knightley for the cover, which has been shot by Mario Testino. So far, public reaction to the cover hasn't been favourable. Fashion fans don't seem to be warming to the British actress and her messy hair, and not even her Balenciaga outfit is winning her much praise. This, coupled with the fact that the issue has slimmed down from 725 pages, from the same time last year, to 674 pages due to a drop in ad sales, and things don't seem to be sitting too pretty right now for Wintour and co.

Theres a thread on the Fashion Spot forums asking peoples favourite magazines. US Vogue was barely mentioned but UK and French were, as was ELLE uk.

I'd have to agree too.. American Vogue always seems a bit brash?
