Check it out: 'Fashion V Sport' exhibition @ Victoria & Albert museum

As the build-up to the Olympics continues, London's Victoria & Albert museum is focussing on the link between sport and fashion. Opening today is Fashion V Sport, an exhibition that showcases a collection of athletic clothing and gear from the precious to the practical. Including Adidas by Stella McCartney, Comme des Garçons' LAZR swimsuit with Speedo, and that Chanel fishing rod.

"It goes beyond what people want as a fishing rod, but it's a fully functional piece, you can go fishing with it," said curator, Ligaya Salazar. "We wanted to look at where fashion meets function, and some fashion designers have almost embraced sports design."

For a slightly all-too real experience, the exhibition also recreates the scent of human bodies using chemicals, which is pumped throughout the space. Erm... eww!

Look beyond that and this is one worth checking out. It runs from 5th August 2008 - 4th January 2009. Click here for more information & tickets.
