Animal activists protest against Giorgio Armani's bullfighter design
Giorgio Armani's decision to dress Spanish matador, Cayetano Rivera Ordóñez, for the historic Goyesca de Ronda bullfight, has attracted protests from animal activists.
The 100% Animalisti group plastered three angry posters on the Emporio Armani megastore in Milan, calling the designer a hypocrite for his previous participation in ad campaigns against animal abandonment.
''Giorgio Armani's decision is particularly despicable in the light of the fact that he is currently appearing in a publicity campaign against animal abandonment in which he declares his love of animals,'' said 100% Animalisti last week.
However, Armani's maintains an admiration of Cayetano, who stars in his custom-made suits along with Italian actor, Raoul Bova.
''Cayetano has that quiet, sophisticated elegance. You immediately sense a man who combines great strength and poise with humility and sensitivity,'' Armani told Men's Vogue.
