From the catwalk to the ad campaign: Lakshmi Menon has it covered for Givenchy
Riccardo Tisci calls it a "family portrait", a campaign using five women of different nationalities to represent "sensuality, femininity, and strong masculinity". A further indication of the industry's pledge of acceptance and diversity, highlighted by Indian model Lakshmi Menon, who opened Givenchy's Haute Couture show this week (above, left).
Menon also stars in the label's ready-to-wear A/W campaign, alongside Lara Stone, Natasha Poly, Kristen Owen and Maria Carla Boscono (above, right). The images are simple, created in black and white, which Tisci makes no apologies about.
"The campaign is in black and white to represent Givenchy colours: no special effects, as it is about the personality of the girls. I wanted them to be natural, the way they would dress, do their hair and make up everyday," he added.
