Carla Bruni-Sarkozy on Sarah Brown's style...

sarahbrown_carlabrunistyle.jpg "Sarah is a very elegant person; her style is classic. I'd prepared myself to go to London; I wanted to honour Britain and France. I was the outsider going into Sarah's world, so she could dress normally. And Sarah hasn't done 12 years of modelling like me, so she doesn't go looking for clothes like I do."

Carla Bruni-Sarkozy on Sarah Brown's style... - Comments

This is an example of a woman feeling worried in advance about what she should wear to stand next to a woman with a reputation of being stunningly beautiful and well dressed.

Sarah looks like she's tried too hard, instead of wearing something she feels innately comfortable in which would relax her more than trying to compete. Carla looks much more relaxed in her trousers and coat than Sarah does in her buttoned up fitted suit. Sarah's advisers should have given her better advice as the odds were stacked against her from the start. Having said that, she did pretty well all up.
