More of the big autumn/winter 2008-9 campaigns are rolling in with a previews from WWD of Naomi Campbell for Yves Saint Laurent and Linda Evangelista for Prada. Recognise those sparkly trousers besides from the catwalk? That is because Campbell recently donned them for another big event - the CFDA Awards. At the time they were a fitting tribute to the late YSL who passed away a day earlier, but now we see that there was more to it than just that.

Shot by Ines van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, I think you will agree that the image is quite a strong, powerful one. And despite reports that Campbell is losing a few strands, I'd say that whoever styled that gorgeous rippling mane, earned their keep that day.

"We imagined her so beautiful in this collection," Miuccia Prada said of the Steven Meisel-photographed campaign.

I am not sure if it is just me, but her pose appears rather awkward. Her leg, for instance, distracts me completely from the overall shot, and draws my focus rather cunningly towards those magnificent shoes. Sneaky!
