Tennis star and style setter Maria Sharapova has announced a wardrobe change for Wimbledon that is apparently shocking in the tennis world.

No, nothing like the diamond-encrusted shoes that she has donned in the past. This involves a simple switch to shorts.

Yes, Sharapova will wear shorts for Grand Slam play instead of her usual skirt or dress.

"I'm going with the traditional shorts, believe it or not," said Sharapova, the 2004 champion.

"I've never worn shorts at a Grand Slam. I'm gonna be debuting that. Call it menswear, obviously. It's kind of like a tuxedo look," (pictured above, left) "very simple lines, classic."

I guess she's relying on her Tiffany jewellery to dress up the ensemble.
